 SEACO, Inc. celebrated 60 years in business in 2009. It all started when Bill Tuller came to Columbia, SC in the mid-1930's to be in the asphalt business with John G. Ehrlich, who later became his father-in-law. Together they started Colprovia Asphalts and began producing and selling cold mix asphalt. With the success of Colprovia Asphalts they began manufacturing asphalt emulsions in 1949 using the name SEACO, Inc. Today, Colprovia operates as a division of SEACO, Inc. Bill Tuller was joined in the business in 1963 by his son, Billy Tuller, becoming the third generation in this endeavor. Another of Bill's sons, Michael, joined the company in 1978 as vice president for approximately 20 years. In 1990, Billy's son, DuBose Tuller, became the fourth generation at SEACO, Inc. Today, Billy Tuller is the Chairman and DuBose Tuller is the President of SEACO, Inc., a full service asphalt emulsion manufacturing company that now serves customers in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia. |
